What to expect when working with Designerbloom
Each project type has a different set of processes and time-lines. This breakdown provides a quick overview into working with Designerbloom.
Getting started
You've seen my work, you love it, and you want to see what I can do for you. Thank you!
Before we begin, please read through my terms and conditions. Once you're happy with those, I need to gather all the details regarding your project. If you require a Logo and/or Branding, an Instagram Grid Design, or a Website, you will need to complete an online questionnaire.
If you're looking for something else (perhaps a price list or display banner, etc) I will need to know all about your business and your expectations in order to create a well thought out design which is unique for your business and attractive to your dream clients.
I will provide a quote if required, and an estimate commencement date for your project. To secure this date I require a 50% deposit. Most projects can be kicked off within 4 weeks, dependent upon my workload at the time.
Your research
To ensure your project is completed as efficiently as possible, I need you to have a solid understanding of your business.
You will know who your dream client is, the target market which is interested in your services/product, and where you visualise your business in the next few years. If this is a sticking point for you, I partner with marketing specialists who will help you define your brand voice (please note this service is not included in most costings).
For Logos and Branding I require either a Pinterest Board collection or a selection of images similar to what you are looking for in your own branding. This helps me gain a strong understanding of your own unique style preferences. I’m passionate about tailoring your branding to your personality and values, I will design in any style that tells your story such as:
- Vibrant and creative
- Refined and sophisticated
- Fun and approachable
- Edgy and modern
- Loving and feminine
- Natural and earthy
This isn’t about me, this is about you!
I will then commence with my own research to see if your personal design preferences would also be attractive to your dream clients, if I find they are not I will offer suggestions which are similar to your selection, but refined to meet the requirements of bringing in clients and customers.
Designing
To kick off any project I start with concept designs. Most projects will begin with 1-3 concepts. Low-resolution proofs are emailed to you in PDF format for your consideration and feedback.
For Logos and Branding you will receive a Research eBook detailing the visual direction of your branding before logo creation commences.
If we're working on a website I will begin by providing PDF proofs of your homepage for approval before building the site. Once the website building commences I will send you a link to the development site so you can monitor and make suggestions during the process.
Project completion
Once revisions are completed and approved by you, your design is finalised. The remaining 50% project costs are required before final files are supplied.
I will provide your final files via email, Hightail, or Google Drive. If you'd like me to organise printing I require the total printing costs upfront before I send the files to the printers. For websites I will organise for your site to go Live.
Timeline
Upon a 50% deposit I will book your project in to my schedule and inform you of the commencement date, usually within 4 weeks, dependent on my workload at the time.
The whole design process from commencement date through to completion generally takes between 1-5 weeks give or take how many revisions are made and your turnaround time for feedback.
For the quickest completion please ensure all text files you provide me are final edits, and any supplied images are high resolution.
